Now, between April 1, 2009 and September 30, 2009, you can get a factory-authorized discount toward the purchase of a qualifying Sony AIT tape storage solution, plus an opportunity to recycle your legacy tape storage equipment at no additional charge.

Q. How much work will I have to do to participate?
A. Register. Purchase. Recycle. (It’s that simple.)
Q. Is there a quantity limit?
A. No. Every AIT purchase made under this program qualifies you to recycle a like-for-like product.

Allowed: purchasing (1) drive qualifies you to recycle (1) drive.
Not allowed: purchasing (1) drive to recycle (4) drives or purchasing (1) drive to recycle (1) library.
Q. Is recycling a product a requirement to participate in this offer?
A. No. Product recycling is optional.
Q. Is there a weight and size limit for the product I’d like to recycle?
A. Yes, a maximum of 80 lbs with a maximum dimension of 36” (L) x 24” (W) x 16” (H).
Q. How do I handle shipping?
A. A prepaid postage label will be supplied to you after you register and make a qualifying purchase. It’s your responsibility to package your recycled product appropriately before shipping.

Terms and Conditions:
Between April 1, 2009 – September 30, 2009, end-user customers can receive a factory-authorized discount on the purchase of qualifying Sony AIT-1 Turbo, AIT-3EX, or AIT-4 products. Customers qualify for a discount through their Sony solution provider after registering their information completely: contact information (name, address, phone, email), product format currently being used (DDS, DAT, VXA, SLR, DLT, DLTVS, SDLT, LTO, or AIT), product type currently being used (drive, autoloader, or library), product manufacturer and model currently being used. All discounts apply to like-for-like products (drive for drive discount, autoloader for autoloader discount, and library for library discount). Each discount is based on the product type registered. After the purchase of a qualifying product, the end-user customer has the option to recycle their old tape storage equipment at no additional charge. Sony will cover the cost of shipping and disposal through the program’s electronic-waste recycler under the maximum weight limit of 80lbs and under the maximum box size of 36” (L) x 24” (W) x 16” (H). It is the customer’s responsibility to package the product properly for shipment. Sony is not responsible for lost items. The recycle option is valid (30) days after the promotion ends on October 31, 2009. Sony reserves the right to request additional information to validate a claim. Offer void where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. Sony is not responsible for claims lost, damaged, or delayed in transit unless Sony has been negligent. Submitted recycle products become property of the program’s electronic-waste recycler. Offer valid only in the continental United States, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories. Offer not valid on refurbished, open-box, returned products, or demonstration products. Sony reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer at any time.
