Out of Warranty Repair Information for AIT and DDS product

If your AIT, SAIT,  DDS or Library tape product is beyond its limited warranty period (Out of Warranty) and it needs to be serviced, Sony’s authorized tape Service Center will repair it on a flat fee basis.  This pricing is effective for shipments on or after November 1, 2009. The flat fees are as follows:

The Service Center hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Central Time.

For all other Out of Warranty tape product service fees please call our tape Service Center for a quote.

All pricing is subject to applicable sales tax.

The accepted method of payment is credit card only (Visa or MasterCard).

All Out of Warranty repairs carry a 90-day guarantee from the tape Service Center.

The customer is responsible for paying postage and handling charges into the Service Center for Out of Warranty repair of the product. These postage and handling charges are non-refundable by Sony.  Sony strongly recommends that the customer fully insures the Out of Warranty product when shipping to the Service Center.  Insuring the product is for your protection; as Sony is not responsible for Products that are lost or damaged in transit by the shipping carrier.  We suggest that you use a "traceable carrier".  A traceable carrier provides a tracking number for each package in transit. Traceable carriers include such shipping companies as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Use of a traceable carrier is essential. If the product is lost in transit, a tracking number helps you locate the missing product.

Upon completion of the Out of Warranty repair the Sony tape Service Center will ship the product back to you at Sony's expense.

Sony's tape Service Center  is not responsible for any damage to or loss of any programs, data, or other information stored on any media or any part of any Out of Warranty tape Product serviced.   IN NO EVENT WILL SONY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS) WITH THE RECOVERY EFFORTS AND/OR RETURN OF THE TAPE MEDIA AND DATA.
