Can I use Sony abCD to backup my hard drive?
Answer:
Yes. Sony abCD can be used as a medium to store the data from your hard drive, however, there is no mechanism for Sony abCD to restore the files to the exact places they were originally (I.E., the boot portion of the drive, system registry, etc.). Sony abCD, when coupled with a backup program such as PowerQuest's DataKeeper, provides an excellent medium for doing backups. Please realize that Sony abCD discs (written in the UDF file system), cannot be read under DOS, so you will need to have Windows 95/98 running to allow you to restore the image.
