Can I label or mark on CDs?

Answer:

Yes. There are many ways to indicate the contents of a CD-R or CD-RW, depending on what level of professional look you want and what you can afford. According to the Optical Storage Technology Association's website, 'Permanent ink felt tip markers that use water-soluble ink are the least expensive method. Next least expensive are stick-on labels. One manufacturer makes a printing device for discs that uses thermal wax transfer where the print quality has a silk-screen look. There are also several manufacturers that have ink jet printers; however, an ink jet printer requires a special "printable" surface on the media. Printable CD-R media is available now and printable CD-RW media should soon be available from CD-RW media manufacturers. Additionally, discs can be silk-screened in a fashion similar to pressed CD-ROMs.'
