What is a bootable CD?

Answer:

A bootable CD is a CD disc that has been created through your recording software with the operating system files on it. It is similar to a bootable floppy disk except it is in CD disc form. It can be used to boot your system with as long as your computer's BIOS settings are set to boot from the CD-ROM drive instead of the floppy A: drive. Most BIOS programs are set to boot from the floppy A: drive.
