How do I record data files to a CD using Sony CD Extreme software?
Use an ISO-9660 job to write from "raw" data on the hard disk or other media to CD.
ISO-9660 format is the most interchangeable format which means that discs created in this format can be read by most computers.
1. Select File: New Job: Data Disc. An ISO-9660 job setup panel will be created in the job setup panel.
2. In the Data Disc window, you will be presented with the ability to select the files and folders you wish to record. This is done by selecting the Add File and Add Folder options, and selecting the proper files or folders. You may also drag and drop the Files or Folders you wish to record into the Data window.
3. Select Edit/Job Options. From here you may choose what the method to record the disc. Checking Disc at Once will write the selected files on the disc in the ISO-9660 format as a single session, non-appendable (closed), on a blank disc only. No additional files can be added after the disc is written. Leaving Track at Once Not closed allows the selected files to be appended to a multi-session format disc. You select either Track at Once 'closed', or Track at Once 'not closed'. If there are already sessions previously written on the disc, and the last session is "open", a new session will be appended. If the disc is blank, the files will be written as the first session. In either case, if you wish to add more sessions later, leave the disc open, as closing the disc will prevent the adding of any additional data to the file list. Click Okay when finished.
4. Select the recorder(s) that will record this job. Selecting more than one unit will enable the HyperDrive function, which records to two CD-R drives simultaneously.
5. Specify the number of copies for the job and the recording speed in the windows provided.
6. To proceed with recording click the Record icon.
