How does one enable or disable compression on a Sony DDS tape drive?
Answer:
The compression can ONLY be set in the software OR the hardware, not both. If the compression is to be set on the hardware, you will need to set the jumper or dip switch accordingly. The methods to control compression are different depending on the product. (see matrix below)
