Why am I unable to hear audio from my CDRW Drive on Windows ME, 2000 or XP?
Windows ME, 2000 and XP have an Enable Digital Audio option. For external devices, you must have this opion enabled to be able to play audio. If you have an EIDE drive, you can either have an audio cable connected to the device, or enable this option. You cannot have an audio cable connected and the option enabled.
To enable this feature, go into Device Manager, right click the Sony drive and go to the Properties tab. Check the Enable Digital Audio box.
