How come after upgrading to IE6 the client machine is unable to access certain FSVM1 Web UI elements?
After upgrading to IE6, installing IE5.x cumulative patches, or certain hotfixes* the client machine is unable to access certain FSVM1 Web UI elements. These are the elements that require the Terminal Services ActiveX control:
- Terminal Services
- Backup
- Disks/Volumes
The window is opened but an X or a activeX control placeholder is seen but nothing else.
*Hotfixes on either the client machine or the FSVM1 server.
The GUID that the Terminal Services ActiveX control uses was changed as part of the security fix. Therefore, the tasks that use the Terminal Services ActiveX control (listed in "Symptoms") do not work after you install MS02-046 or MS02-047, IE5.x cumulative patch, or IE6 upgrade.
