Error Message: Pins Not Connected (32722)

Answer:

Title
Pins Not Connected (32722)

Description
Disc Writing/Capture Error

Symptom
When writing a disc or capturing, I get Pins Not Connected (32722)

Solution

  1. Make sure that your your files are DVD compliant. Many times this error occurs with files that have been downloaded from the Internet or have non-compliant attributes for DVD burning.
  2. Make sure that all of your video cards are properly seated (or reseat them) and then re-boot.
  3. Check ALL SCSI and ATA drive/burner connections (internal and external) to make sure that they are firmly connected and no pins in those connectors are bent or missing. Also, check drive ribbons and cables for tears, rips, or broken connections.
  4. Make sure that you have ASPI 4.6. If you are unsure how to do this, go the ASPI radified link listed below as it will give you specific instructions on how to do this.
  5. Check your computer monitor's pin configurations with that of the video card it is connected to. Check to see if your monitor and card support the same number of pins (most use 15, but some users have been instructed by certain companies to remove the 15th pin to fix the conflict). If you are unsure how to do this, consult your video card manufacturer and describe what make and model monitor you are using. Some monitors require a special adapter to correct the 15 pin issue. Make sure that your card came with this adapter or needs one for the monitor that you are using.
  6. Finally, check that your video card has the latest drivers and control panels from the manufacturer. The link below describes how to do this PER ATI 7500/8500 Radeon card's. If you do not have an ATI card, then follow the same instructions, but substitute your video card manufacturer's website instead of ATI's.
