"Device Error - Uniterpreted Error (DVDErr, -9983)", "Unknown Device Error", "Invalid Media Type", "-223051", "32722 Invalid media" pop up when trying to write/burn to DVD.
Solution
Please be sure that your media is correct for your DVD burner. For instance, if you have a +RW/R drive, make sure that you are not using -RW/R discs.
This can also be a communication error with the writer. As with most building erorrs, it is always a good first step for you to write the project as a DVD Folder to the hard drive to rule out the possibility of file issues. If the project can successfully be built to hard drive there is a possible conflict with the writer-driver. . To get to the bottom of the potential writer problem in MyDVD:
- Disable auto-run on writer. (Check Windows documentation for instructions for your Operating System)
- Change Mater/Slave configuration with drives or place writer on it's own chain
- Delete other CD/DVD disc writing application from your computer to avoid possible conflict with the device drivers.
- Ensure that you have the latest firmware and drivers
- Disable DMA: Follow the link below for instructions on how to disable DMA on your DVD recorder. http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q247/4/26.ASP
- Your ASPI drivers may also be causing this error to occur. If you are running Win2000 or WinNT take the"wnaspi32.dll" out of the DVDit/ MyDVD folder (located in the same directory as the DVDit.exe or mydvd.exe) and reboot your computer.
