Description
When I try to add an .avi file I get the message "No Video Decoder Available For This Stream Type (DVDErr, -47003)"

Symptom
When I try to add an .avi file I get the message "No Video Decoder Available For This Stream Type (DVDErr, -47003)"

Solution
The main reasons for this error happening are as follows:

1. An unsupported .avi codec is being used--such as one from Pinnacle or a dv .avi file that has been shown to be too large sometimes for our Sonic Codec or with the incorrect header information. You must use Microsoft .avi files. If you only have the incomptible files, then you may want to use a third party mpeg-2 encoder like TMPGEnc to write over the .avi information and create a DVD compliant MPEG-2 (link follows). Also please look at our Preparing Files document to make sure that your files are to DVD specifications.
2. The files were/are being captured through an unsupported firewire or analog capture card. Please check with your Computer's manufacturer to make sure that your firewire card is either an Adaptec, Belkin, Keyspan OHCI IEEE-1394 compliant card.
