How is the Quality of the Video when Burned with DVD Direct?
Because the VRD-MC5 uses high quality 'hardware' MPEG2 encoding (the video format used on DVDs), the quality of the video on the DVD is very high. However, the quality of the source video is the biggest factor. If you are preserving old VHS video footage to DVD, the quality of the video on the tape may be poor. While it won't magically improve when transferring to DVD, it won't be any worse either. High quality standard definition video sources such as miniDV or Digital 8 tape yield the best looking DVDs. High definition AVCHD video of course, is an ideal video source.
