Actually, no. The VRD-MC5 supports a few different recording modes. By default, the VRD-MC5 records 'incrementally', which means the first time you connect the camcorder and press the DVD Burn button, all the video will be recorded to DVD but the next time you connect the camcorder to the VRD-MC5 for a Disc(DVD) burn, it will only record any new video shot. You can choose to always record all the video every time if you desire, select individual video scenes, create a playlist of scenes, or select scenes by date to record to DVD.
