This Firmware Upgade is for the i.Link bridge on Sony Vaio Notebooks with Windows® 98 ONLY. This is designed to address the issue where some Sony Vaio Notebooks and the Sony i.Link CD-RW lock up during recording. The upgrade is for the i.Link bridge itself and does not upgrade the actual CD-RW drive. This upgrade is not meant for the drive on other systems and does not address any other symptoms you may have.
