- Disable your Anti-Virus programs. Some Anti-Virus programs will start up when you try to play a DVD movie and cause distortion.
- Install the Sony drive as a Secondary master by itself. Do not install the drive with another DVD-ROM/CD-RW/CD-ROM drive.
- Enable the Hardware Acceleration within the Nero Showtime software.
- Click on the Preferences button (the hammer) on the menu bar.
This reduces the main load on the processor and may lead to improved video performance. Please note this is only possible to switch the hardware acceleration on and off when there is no playback.

Why I am unable to install Nero InCD software?
In most cases, different packet writing software such as Nero InCD, Roxio Drag and Drop, Sonics DLA or BHA B's Clip cannot coexist. In order for the Nero InCD software to work properly it is advisable to have only one type of packet writing software on the computer. Will an 80 wire cable with 40 pin connectors work with Sony DVD/CD recorders?
The 80 wire cable with 40 pin connectors preserves signal integrity. Using the 80 wire cables with this type of construction allows the maximum data rates of ATA66, ATA100 and ATA133 to be reached. This cable is used primarily for Ultra DMA configurations but will also work on Sony DVD/CD burner.
***Note*** Sony recorders are only supported on Ultra DMA built into the motherboard. They are not supported on Ultra DMA cards added to the system.
