How do I select the folders/files that I want to record with CD Extreme?
There are a few different ways to accomplish this. First, you must have the type of recording you are doing selected, such as Data Job, Audio Job, etc.
One way to select the files or folders is to click on Edit, and choose Add File or Add Folder from the drop-down menu. You are then able to browse for the particular file or folder.
Another method for selecting is to click on the folder or file icons (with a star on the icon). These are on the right side of the screen above the different recording options. You then browse for the appropriate file or folder.
A third method is to drag and drop files and folders into the list from an open window. For instance, if you have your My Documents folder open, you can click and drag an item from there into the CD Extreme layout list.
Does my Sony Spressa CD-RW support High Speed Media?
Sony Spressa CD-RW will support High Speed Media only if it is stated on the box or on the unit itself. Please note that models which came out before the 145E (i.e. models numbers CRX 100, CRX 120, or CRX 140) will not support High Speed Media.
Can I run system tests, such as transfer and digital audio extraction rates, with CD Extreme software?
Yes, you can run Data and Audio Extraction Speed Tests, as well as a Recorder Self Test with this program. To execute these tests, highlight the appropriate drive on the left side of the Sony CD Extreme screen. Click on Drive on the Menu bar and then Disc Explorer & Drive Properties. There are three icons located just above the CD Text button. Click on these icons to perform the various system tests. It is a good idea to test your drives before recording, especially if you plan to copy disc to disc.
