How do I select the folders/files that I want to record with CD Extreme?
There are a few different ways to accomplish this. First, you must have the type of recording you are doing selected, such as Data Job, Audio Job, etc.
One way to select the files or folders is to click on Edit, and choose Add File or Add Folder from the drop-down menu. You are then able to browse for the particular file or folder.
Another method for selecting is to click on the folder or file icons (with a star on the icon). These are on the right side of the screen above the different recording options. You then browse for the appropriate file or folder.
A third method is to drag and drop files and folders into the list from an open window. For instance, if you have your My Documents folder open, you can click and drag an item from there into the CD Extreme layout list.
Does my Sony Spressa CD-RW support High Speed Media?
Sony Spressa CD-RW will support High Speed Media only if it is stated on the box or on the unit itself. Please note that models which came out before the 145E (i.e. models numbers CRX 100, CRX 120, or CRX 140) will not support High Speed Media.
Why do I receive errors recording disc to disc with CD Extreme?
To minimize errors, disable any background programs such as Anti-Virus, Screen Savers, or Power Management. Disable Auto Insert Notification and DMA, if applicable, for both drives.
Go to Start/Find to do a search for the SCSI1HLP.VXD virtual file. Once it is found, rename is SCSI1HLP.OLD.
You may need to change your system configuration. If using a USB drive, disconnect any other USB devices on the system. You also may need to slow down the recording speed.
Keep in mind that you will always get the best results copying from the hard drive. The source CD-Rom may not be able to extract the information off the CD fast enough to successfully record at any speed. In this instance, it will be neccessary to record the disc to the hard drive, and burn the CD from there.
