TSLS9000
Why do my tapes jam in my TSL 9000 autoloader?
Applying a label to the tapes will resolve this issue. You must use the large Sony brand DDS media labels.
Why aren't Autoloaders supported under the Microsoft Back-Up programs?
Microsoft Back-Up will only recognize one tape in an autoloader, therefore, you will need a third party software to do a back-up with an autoloader.
Why won't my Autoloader accept the magazine when my seven tapes are in it?
All eight tapes, including the cleaning tape, must be in the magazine in order for the Autoloader drive to accept it.
Do I need to have all tapes in the magazine?
Yes, all tapes must be in the magazine in order for the drive to operate properly.
How do I remove tapes from the magazine of my Sony DDS Autoloader?

I cannot remove the Tape Magazine from the Sony DDS Autoloader?
Please check that the Prevent Media Removal has not been enabled. A SCSI Bus reset or power OFF/ON of the autoloader should disable Prevent Media Removal. If a fatal error is displayed on the front panel LCD (TSL-7000 & TSL-9000 Wrench Error; TSL-9000L LDR HW Error), the tape magazine may not eject. A SCSI Bus Reset or power cycle may clear the error condition allowing tape magazine removal. If this does not work and if it is absolutely mandatory that the tape magazine be removed from the autoloader, an emergency tape magazine removal procedure can be performed.
I am having Read & Write problems with my Sony DDS Autoloader. What should I do?
A common cause are dirty heads or bad media. For suspected dirty heads, please use a cleaning cartridge. Slot 8 of the Tape Magazine has been designated for the cleaning cartridge. Most 3rd party backup applications have an automatic cleaning option. Please check the specific user guides for more information. You can also remove all media from the tape magazine, and place a cleaning cartridge in slot 8. The autoloader will either automatically load the cleaning cartridge, or you will have to set the cleaning option via the front panel Select button.
Can I use Microsoft NT Backup with either the TSL-7000 or TSL-9000/9000L?
No. Microsoft NT Backup does not support Sony DDS autoloaders.
Windows Server 2003 DDS TSL Medium Changer Driver (Itanium Only!)
Windows XP provides native DDS Medium Changer driver support, so a Medium Changer Driver is not necessary.
Windows XP Pro / Windows Vista / Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition DDS TSL Medium Changer Driver
If the user installs an unsigned driver for this web site, Windows XP/Windows 2000 will display a warning that the driver is unsigned, thus helping to preserve the integrity of the released system. However, by default, Windows XP/Windows 2000 does not block installation of unsigned drivers. This will allow Sony Electronics Inc. to get urgent fixes to customers while waiting for Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) to test the fix.
