Error Message: "Out of Memory" DVDerr 16033

Answer:

Description
When I attempt to "Get Movies" I get an error message that says "Out of Memory" DVDerr 16033. I have plenty of memory left on the hard drive and no other programs are running. I am trying to "get" standard Mpg movies and have done so in the past.

Symptom
When I attempt to "Get Movies" I get an error message that says "Out of Memory" DVDerr 16033. I have plenty of memory left on the hard drive and no other programs are running. I've got 512 MG of RAM and 51 Gig of hard drive space. I am trying to "get" standard Mpg movies and have done so in the past.

Solution

  1. In the Make DVD Folder Dialog where is the Path set to? It should be to the top level of c:/ or the drive with the most free space that is local.
  2. Next click on the advanced tab and deselect all of the check boxes. Take a look at the path and see where your temp files are being stored. Follow the path through explorer and delete any old builds/files that may exist. Then change the path to the same place as the folder.
  3. Make sure that your drive has been defragged and your virtual memory isn't too large and that you have plenty of spcae on your hard drive (at least 5 gigs free).

Error Message: Device Error sense code (3 0c 08) OSErr 199688 or (DVDErr,199688)

Answer:

Title
Device Error sense code (3 0c 08) OSErr 199688 or (DVDErr,199688)

Description
Burning/Writing issues

Symptom
When trying to burn, I get the error "Device Error sense code (3 0c 08) OSErr 199688"

Solution
This error isn't restricted to DVDit! or MyDVD and usually only happens when burning -/+R discs. However there are some steps you can take to reduce the chances of getting this error.

  1. If you have the Sony DRU-500a, Sony has updated the firmware for this burner to 1.0d and seems to resolve most issues. Sony also recommends TDK, Maxell and Pioneer for DVD -R; and Sony, Ricoh and Mitsubishi for DVD +R. This usually fixes the problem and should be tried first.
  2. Make sure that you have the most recent version of Sonic software as older versions do not support +R drives and some other media.
  3. Build your session to your hard drive and then burn the volume to reduce stress on the burner, the computer, and the application. Instruction links are below as well.
  4. Make sure that you have the most recent ASPI layer for your computer. Win2k users and below should be at ASPI 4.6 and XP users should be at 4.72. A link on how to acquire this is below.

Error Message: Error -9997

Answer:

Title
Error -9997

Description
DVDit! / MyDVD 2.x Troubleshooting

Solution
The only time we encountered this error was when there was ROM data with many extremely small files. The problem seemed to be eliminated when the users had files of 6k or over. If this scenario doesn't seem right to you, it could be that building your session to your c:/ drive THEN burning the DVD disc could help solve this problem.

Error Message: No Video Decoder Available For This Stream Type (DVDErr, -47003)

Answer:

Title
No Video Decoder Available For This Stream Type (DVDErr, -47003)

Description
When I try to add an .avi file I get the message "No Video Decoder Available For This Stream Type (DVDErr, -47003)"

Symptom
When I try to add an .avi file I get the message "No Video Decoder Available For This Stream Type (DVDErr, -47003)"

Solution
The main reasons for this error happening are as follows:

  1. An unsupported .avi codec is being used--such as one from Pinnacle or a dv .avi file that has been shown to be too large sometimes for our Sonic Codec or with the incorrect header information. You must use Microsoft .avi files. If you only have the incomptible files, then you may want to use a third party mpeg-2 encoder like TMPGEnc to write over the .avi information and create a DVD compliant MPEG-2 (link follows). Also please look at our Preparing Files document to make sure that your files are to DVD specifications.
  2. The files were/are being captured through an unsupported firewire or analog capture card. Please check with your Computer's manufacturer to make sure that your firewire card is either an Adaptec, Belkin, Keyspan OHCI IEEE-1394 compliant card. You can also check the MyDVD compatibility webpage below.

Why won't MyDVD record the new project I have created? I keep getting error messages.

Answer:

The files you are trying to record could be corrupt. Try playing them in Windows Media Player. If WMP is unable to play the file it is corrupt.
